The Philippines has declared a state of emergency, after Typhoon Kalmegia battered central regions. At least 114 people have been killed, with an even larger number reported missing. It's the biggest tropical storm so far this year.
The US transportation department says it will start cutting flights to dozens of busy airports on Friday unless the federal government shutdown, now the longest in history, comes to an end. We look at the impact this is having on travel and the airline industry.
The Trump administration is facing mounting questions over the legality of its airstrikes against alleged drug boats off south and central America. More than 60 people have been killed in the last two months. Many Democrats say the strikes are illegal while some Republicans also want answers.
