
Trump's crackdown on crime and homelessness in Washington
President Trump says Washington has been "taken over by violent gangs and bloodthirsty criminals".
President Trump is deploying National Guard troops to Washington DC and taking control of its police force, to combat what he called out of control crime. Crime levels in the US capital have been dropping, but the president painted a dystopian picture of life in the capital, talking about bloodshed, bedlam, squalor and worse.
