Mindu Hornick: Don't let Auschwitz memories erode
Mindu Hornick and her sister survived Auschwitz 75 years ago, but their family did not.
It鈥檚 75 years since allied troops entered the Nazi death camp at Auschwitz. The very word Auschwitz still stirs a unique level of horror. It was the place where Hitler鈥檚 genocide of European Jewry was industrialised with evil precision. Stephen Sackur speaks to Mindu Hornick, one of the remaining survivors. Now 90 years old, she continues to speak of the past in the hope that we will learn from her experience. That鈥檚 her challenge to us: to listen and to draw the right lessons.
