Shane Warne and the 'Ball of the Century'
In 1993, the Australian spinner made his Ashes debut with the delivery that made his name.
In 1993, Shane Warne bowled arguably the most famous delivery in the history of the Ashes – the so-called “Ball of the Century”. On the first ball of his Ashes debut, Warne unleashed a leg break that spun so viciously it bamboozled England batsman Mike Gatting, the ѿý commentary team and even his own wicket-keeper. The ball made Warne an overnight superstar and is credited with revitalising the art of spin-bowling. Simon Watts introduces the memories of Shane Warne and Mike Gatting.
