Why a Ukrainian film about Kiev’s Maidan Square protests five years ago has inspired protesters now in Hong Kong.
Last week, protesters in Hong Kong organised screenings of a Netflix documentary about Ukraine's Maidan Square protests called ‘Winter on Fire’. Jeff Li and Fan Wang of ѿý Chinese met some protesters moved to see their own situation mirrored in past events in Ukraine. And for Diana Kuryshko of ѿý Ukrainian, events in Hong Kong brought back memories of 2014.

Belarusian squirrels

Iran’s “bearded women” football fans
A number of Iranian women were recently arrested for previously attending football matches disguised as men. But at the same time, the authorities announced that for the first time, women will be allowed to attend Iran's next international match.
