Lula鈥檚 'zero deforestation' plan for the Amazon
Following Brazil鈥檚 presidential election, we examine the shrinking size of the world鈥檚 largest tropical rainforest. Can Lula Da Silva save it?
Lula Da Silva has pledged 鈥渮ero deforestation鈥� in the Amazon as he prepares to become Brazil鈥檚 next president, in contrast to the policies of outgoing leader Jair Bolsonaro under whom the destruction of the rainforest has soared. On this edition of More or Less we ask how much of the Amazon has been lost and whether Lula鈥檚 aim of zero deforestation can be achieved.
