The innovative floating dwellings that can happily rise and fall with water

One of our most pressing global environmental problems is flooding and rising water levels. MAST, an innovative architecture practice based on the harbourside in Copenhagen, has devised ways of ‘building on water’, making floating dwellings and whole linked communities that can happily rise and fall with water levels. The applications for this are huge - from tow-able classrooms for Denmark to solutions for the big flooding deltas of Asia. Jonathan Glancey is In the Studio to report on the work in progress.
