June Freedom is the most streamed artist from Cabo Verde at the moment. He grew up on the islands, but was born in Boston and is now based in LA. His music draws on this rich musical background with influences as diverse as Cesaria Evora and Usher. It has been described as 'the sound of endless summer'.
In July this year he was named African Rookie of the month by the USA鈥檚 prestigious music magazine Billboard. But June Freedom is no rookie. He supported Tiwa Savage on her US tour, and has performed around the world in his own right.
He also has three albums under his belt. The most recent of these came out in July and it鈥檚 called Casa Mira Mar.
