It may sound like science fiction, but Japan, UK, USA, EU and China have all recently committed to develop technologies to make space-based solar farms a reality. Spurred by the climate crisis, there are plans to have in these operational in the next 15-20 years, with demonstration technologies being launched as early as 2025.
