ALL'S WELL THAT ENDS WELL
Mark Lawson reviews Judi Dench's first appearance at Stratford upon Avon since 1979, as she plays the Countess of Rosillion in the Royal Shakespeare Company's new production of All's Well That Ends Well.

Return of the King is in cinemas from Wednesday 17th December.

DARK SIDE OF THE FAIRY TALE
Also in Stratford, Lawrence Boswell directs his own new version of Beauty and the Beast, while David Bintley's production of the same tale for Birmingham Royal Ballet is currently at the Hippodrome in Birmingham. Both directors join Mark to discuss staging the Beast for children and adults, and the darker side of the classic fairy story.

The free public display of the contenders is in the Sainsbury Wing of the National Gallery until 8th February 2004
