Playwright, Peter Nichols reviews the Royal Opera House's new production of Stephen Sondheim's musical thriller Sweeney Todd - The Demon Barber of Fleet Street.

Sweeney Todd is at the Royal Opera House until 14 January 2004. A live broadcast is on Radio 3 tomorrow night at 7.25pm
