Mark Lawson talks to acclaimed scriptwriter Paul Abbott about his semi-autobiographical TV drama Shameless which takes as its inspiration how he and his siblings brought themselves up after their parents abandoned them.

Mark Lawson talks to Lawrence Foster, the conductor of 4'33", the John Cage composition consisting of 4 minutes and 33 seconds of silence which will be performed this Friday at the Barbican.

4'33" is performed as part of the concert Cage in his American Context at the Barbican this Friday and broadcast live on Radio 3 at 7.30 pm as part of the John Cage Uncaged weekend

JAWS ANNIVERSARY
Thirty years after the first publication of Jaws, Mark Lawson talks to the novel's author, Peter Benchley, and the original editor of the book Thomas Congdon, about how a lunch in a second-rate French restaurant in 1972 resulted in one of the most successful novels, and later films, of all time.

Jaws is available in paperback, published by Pan Macmillan. Jaws the film is on ITV1 this Sunday at 4.35 pm
