Literary critic and author D J Taylor reviews a new radio production of The Pallisers, Anthony Trollope's series of novels about love and parliamentary life in Victorian London.
The Pallisers is on Radio 4 from Sunday 25 January at 3pm

ERIK SATIE MARATHON
Over the weekend a team of volunteers including Django Bates, Michael Berkeley, Julian Joseph and the Controller of Radio 3, took part in a rare performance of Erik Satie's 18 hour piano piece Vexations, at the Barbican in London. 840 repetitions of 3 lines of slow music were divided into quarter hour chunks for each player, from Saturday evening through to Sunday lunch.
Front Row's Jeremy Summerly had a slot at 9 am on Sunday and reports from the whole event.
