Simon Calder Simon became travel editor for The Independent in 1994. He was a presenter for ѿý2’s ‘Travel Show and now contributes to ‘Holiday and The Departure Lounge’ programmes. He regularly comments on travel issues for ѿý radio and television.
Dea Birkett Dea Birkett is a travel writer and broadcaster, she writes a regular travel column for the Guardian. She is co-editor of the best selling ‘Amazonian: The Penguin Book of Women’s New Travel Writing’ and ‘Off the Beaten Track – 3 Centuries of Women Traveller’. Dea was awarded a Winston Churchill Travel Fellowship to join an Italian circus.
Paul Goldstein Photographer and writer who also works for the travel company "Exodus". Paul has encountered many real life experiences with people breaking laws abroad. He worked as a travel rep in Mallorca for many years and on many occasions he had to try and persuade the Guardia Civil to let someone out of the cells.
Sean Wilsey Sean Wilson is the Editor of "McSweenys", a witty US literary quarterly. “The Glory of it All” is his first book, it has gone down a storm in America and has captured a lot of interest from both literary critics and the public at large. It is a memoir of his childhood as the son of high society Californian socialites in the seventies and eighties and his experience of travelling the world on a peace mission with his mother, writer, television presenter, and hysterical party hostess Pat Montandon. They travelled with a group of children under the banner of ‘Children as Teachers of Peace’ and met Pope John Paul II, Mikhail Gorbachev, Ronald Reagan, Chinese leader Zhao Ziyang, Helmut Kohl, Indira Gandhi, Menachem Begin. Pat Montandon was nominated for a Noble Peace Prize.
