JOHNNY KINGDOM
Ìýis the poacher turned Exmoor naturalist, cameraman and conservationist. After suffering a terrible facial accident when felling trees, he vowed never to kill another animal, turning instead to shooting them with his video camera and making wildlife films. In his book Bambi and Me he tells of how he rescued a badly injured deer, how she survived and became part of Johnny's family. Bambi and Me: A Deer in the Family is published by Bantam Press.
RICHARD BEARD and DRUSILLA MARLAND
Richard Beard is the author of four critically acclaimed novels and two non fiction books. His latest Becoming Drusilla: One Life, Two friends, Three Genders is a biography of his motorcycling friend Drew who had a sex change in 2006. Becoming Drusilla One Life, Two friends, Three Genders is published by Harvill Secker.
DARREN RAYMOND
Darren Raymond is an ex-offender whose life was turned around by taking up acting with the London Shakespeare Workout theatre group. He is now Artistic Director of Ìýwhich engages professional actors and directors who are also ex-offenders. His latest play Prison Wings runs from the 15th to 24th May at Intermission Theatre,ÌýSt Saviour's Church, Walton Place, London SW3.Ìý On 21st May there is a post show discussion posing questions on prison and crime prevention.
DAPHNE TODD
Daphne Todd is best known as a portrait painter and was the first female President of the . Her work also covers a wide range of genre, still life and landscape paintings. Her latest exhibition at Messum's gallery in London features her double portrait of Lord and Lady Tebbit.
The exhibition is atÌý gallery, 8 Cork Street, London W1 from 14th until 31st May. A new book Daphne Todd: Paint and Principle by Jenny Pery is published by David Messum Fine Art.
