DocumentÌý has uncovered researchÌýthat the British government ignored a secret report by its own nuclear scientists warning that Greenham Common was the riskiest of 12 possible sites to place cruise missiles in the early 1980’s.

The research, which has never been published, claimed such a move would endanger the lives of ten million people. Strong pressure from the American military led to the report being shelved and the British public, including the thousands of women who protested outside the US base, never knew of it’s findings.
