Death in Cannes

ÌýListen in full on Monday

A bizarre series of events led to the tragic death of a waiter...

Eleanor Landreau in the 1950s

77 year old Eleanor Landreau is a British woman who has lived in Paris most of her adult life. She moved to France in the 1940s to work at the Lido as a Blue Bell girl and eventually became a fashion model.

In 1957 she and her French husband took a holiday in Cannes. At the last minute there changed their accommodation to a small family run hotel full of artists and writers. But a bizarre sequence of events involving a member of the hotel's waiting staff made their holiday one they were unlikely to forget in a hurry.

Listen to the interview to find out what happened to Eleanor
