Why do a bunch of fortysomething dads get together to play their hearts out?

There's Ant, Bob, Marc, Dave, Joe and the two Andys, all with innocuous sounding day jobs. When evening comes they are transformed. Their combined identity emerges as Hellzaboppin, a 'Jump, Jive and Swing' band.

Dylan Winter caught up with them recently at their 'Stony Live 03' gig at Stony Stratford near Milton Keynes. Accompanied by Hellzaboppin's rendition of Pink Floyd's Another Brick in the Wall, wives and reluctantly impressed teenage offspring speculate on why their partners/fathers/husbands still feel the urge to rock.
