Barrie and Tony Drewitt-Barlow are used to publicity. A few years ago the papers were full of the story of how a surrogate mother in America produced twins for them and they were named on the birth certificate as Parent 1 and Parent 2.
Their children, Aspen and Saffron, are now 3½. They have the same biological mother, but Aspen has Tony as her biological father and Saffron has Barrie.
In the next week or so, the family will be flying out to the States for the birth of a third child, a boy who will be the identical twin of Aspen.
Recently Tony and Barrie retired after selling the highly successful Clinical Science firm which they set up together a few years ago. Their story, though, begins 15 years ago - at Stockport Service station...
