Gwyn Lawrence was deported back to Britain from the States, after working and living there for 20 years...

Gwyn Lawrence, USA Deportee

Gwyn Lawrence was forced to leave behind everything he knew and loved from the last 20 years

Gwyn used to be a roadie working for numerous big name bands and he first went to LA on tour in 1981 working for Rod Stewart. He did return to Wales to set up his own business in 1983 but felt he was being smothered by the corporate world and went back to the U.S. He kept renewing his 6 months Business Visa to stay in the States indefinitely.

Even though he technically couldn't work, Gwyn did well, he settled in a tiny community in south-west Texas called Terlingua. The weather was sunny, he owned some land, became a silent partner in one of his mates mechanics shop - and lived close enough to the Mexican border to hop over for lunch (while renewing his Visa of course!) Life was grand.

...So, what happened? Did he let things slacken as time passed? Did he deep down feel he had done wrong? To lose absolutely everything in under 2 weeks must have been quick a shock! Well, Gwyn is now in London trying to sort out his life (there are no belongings left to sort!) and coping with the cultural differences and the weather -before he can start to plan for the future again.
