Clive proposed to Heidi while sitting on a harbour wall - but his attempt at romance quickly turned into farce...

Clive and Heidi and two friends went off to Saundersfoot in South Wales for a short holiday. It was about 8pm and the friends were enjoying a walk down to the harbour. They sat on the wall, a passer-by took their photos and Clive proposed. As they stood up, caught in the excitement, Clive picked Heidi up and swung her around in the air. But before they could stop - they both fell over the wall!
The tide was out and the drop was over 20 feet. Luckily it was so muddy and oily it helped to brake their fall. They landed side by side - Clive's first words were "Are you alive love?" Luckily she was and Clive says Heidi's first words were "Have I still got the ring on?"
There was quite a bit of commotion, with ambulances, the coastguard, even a helicopter was called, plus the large audience on the pier. They managed to get themselves out of the harbour, got checked over by the ambulance crew, and then had to walk back to their hotel stinking, covered in mud and oil - the laughing stock of the village...
Thankfully, Heidi is still planning to marry Clive....
