Becoming My Mother

Listen to the item

Allison McVety is 42 and has been married for 13 years. Her mother died suddenly 5 years ago leaving behind 4 daughters. Allison wrote to tell us that there comes a time in every woman's life when she realises she has become her mother. At first it will appear to be an isolated occurance and you may become complacent - but there is no escape. It's impossible when she gets together with her 3 sisters ...they lecture each other using their Mum's phrases - it's as if they've become clones.

We are all our mother's daughters, so it does seems natural that we will become our mother - it does help to keep her spirit alive.
