Listen to the item

Eileen Bellisle was a wartime baby whose English mother and Canadian father fell for each other whilst he was over here waiting to be posted to Europe. They were both married to other people at the time and this had long-term repercussions for baby Eileen - she was put up for adoption.

She explains to Michael that after growing up with loving parents who never made any secret of the fact she'd been adopted, she herself had a child and, as it often does, this prompted her to look for her own birth mother. She found her and a whole lot more besides.

Eileen's parents were called Arthur Bellisle and Muriel (Hargrave) - if your name is Jennifer Anne and you were born on 22nd September 1945 you may be Eileen's sister - please .
