Listen to the item

Heather contacted ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Truths after hearing Stephen Waldron on the programme a couple of weeks ago. Like Stephen she was also a Harwell child, born there in 1946; her father George Lockett worked in Nuclear energy.

George would encourage her and her brother to build things, test them and he explained complicated theories to them. She learnt algebra when she was 6.

Heather explains to Michael Rosen how everything about her childhood was to do with building and making.
