Betty and Isobel are the alleged founders of the Renfrew Over-50s Swimming Club. Isobel is president and Rita joined because of Flora - they got to know each other at a community council meeting 27 years ago. Tommy drives them to whichever bathing pool they're sampling that week and whichever pool it is George Grant will watch over them.
