Edible People?

Last week on the programme, Margaret Eccles told us about her and her children's condition, Synaesthesia, where they see letters in colour. Francesca Bondy emailed in response - her friend, Sarah Smith, sees names as food ...

"A good friend of mine, Sara, has this weird thing where she links names with colours. It's fascinating, a real party turn, but I think she's embarrassed by this amazing ability. Her descriptions are very very specific, and she'll always go back to the same one, years later. There's one person she knows, who to her, is a purple love heart, another is rum and raisin ice cream and one unfortunate friend is phlegm! She just sees food when she sees names. John ... you're a cold sausage roll ... and Peel? A sucked fruit gum."

Do you see people as food, letters in colour, or see all numbers as one huge colourful map?
Tell us about your synaesthetic tendencies ...
