After slumming it with the common folk for most of the festival, on Sunday afternoon I made my way backstage to meet one of the artistes.

"We had a great time. I think the crowd were so enthusiastic considering they were being rained on so heavily."

Ed Lay

Shortly after the Editors finished playing the main stage, I caught up with their drummer, Ed, to discuss his thoughts on V, their new album and what's coming next from the band.

It was cold, wet and windy, and I didn't feel very much like a VIP at all, but for the first time that weekend I was allowed to experience the, ahem, 'luxury' of the world of portable buildings that make up the high-security dressing-rooms area. So there was Ed, myself, and a pair of green plastic patio chairs. All very glamorous.

On stage with the Editors

Earlier on Sunday the Editors had enjoyed a decent set on the main stage. They mixed older favourites such as Munich and All Sparks with the title-track from their second album, The End has a Start and the beautiful single Smokers Outside the Hospital Doors. They had even the people at the very back singing along.

The combination of make-you-dance-like-a-fool rhythms and frontman Tom Smith's intimidating voice was so captivating it even made me forget just how cold and wet I was.
