Based on a vibrant
college campus, Kya Yehi Pyaar Hai (meaning Is This Love?) is the story
of Rahul and Sandhya.
Rahul has always been in love with beautiful Sandhya but has never been able to
reveal his intimate feelings for fear of rejection.
Sandhya on the
other hand, is the daughter of a maniacal police inspector and so has seen life
at its cruellest.
For this reason, she has always put her career before her personal feelings and
craved for a life that's better than her parents.
The sub-plot in
this story comes in the form of Dr Tanwani, Rahul's brother and a heart surgeon
who tries to convince him without any success that love can only be part of life
and not the entirety of it.
But soon enough,
one dangerous twist in this powerful saga makes Rahul come to his senses but is
it now too late for him to find happiness?
From, here on Rahul
decides to forget Sandhya. But only to find that the girl who won't give him even
a single smile to die for is now madly in love with him.
Technically this film has been very well executed by the director. Both the cinematography
and the action sequences are in the same league. The songs, Deewana Muhje Ketha
Hai and the main title sound track are extremely well visualised, brightly
composed and equally performed with sheer brilliance by both Amisha and Aftab.
Aftab does deserve a special mention here for his outstanding performance throughout
the film. He is maturing nicely as a true Bollywood actor since his debut vehicle,
Mast, which was released three years ago.
All in all do give this bitter sweet college romance a watch to find out what
the climax has in store for you.
