When Barack Obama ran for the presidency in the United States you could have been forgiven for thinking that the people of Britain were also going to be able to vote for him. The reverse however is not true for the General Election in two weeks. But this election does have implications for America. Patrick Basham is the Director of the Democracy Institute, a public policy think-tank in Washington DC and the author of a recent essay "Why Britain's election matters to America.'' As sporting upsets go losing to Afghanistan at pretty much anything has to be up there. And that's exactly the fate that's befallen Ireland's cricketers who were beaten by the Afghan team at a world 20 twenty warm up game in Guyana. Plus, Dr Karl's science Phone in.
