Adam Ant

On the Ropes

Available for over a year

Flamboyant and charismatic, Adam Ant was the most successful pop star of the early 1980s. He is best remembered for his wild sense of style - dressed as a highwayman with a white-stripe painted across his face, crashing through a church window in the video for his biggest hit 'Stand and Deliver'. The extreme highs and lows of bipolar disorder affected his career and personal life - he attempted suicide; he's been sectioned and he's spent long periods in psychiatric care. He discusses the highs and lows of his life and career with John Humphrys.
