The Countryside

Blind Man's Bete Noire

Available for over a year

In his new series Blind Man's Bete Noire, Peter White explores some of the things which 'get up my nose' about blindness. The four programmes include The Countryside, Holidays, Being Introduced to Other Blind People and Going Slowly. In the first programme, Peter takes a walk in the Kent countryside with keen rambler Janet Street-Porter, who tries to help Peter find the best way for him to experience and enjoy the countryside. She suggests that Pete finds a silent walking companion, but they both agree they would not make an ideal partnership as both are too similar in disposition and like to do most of the talking! Producer: Cheryl Gabriel.
