Michael Rosen listens to traditional stories from other countries, including Uganda, Pakistan, Trinidad, Poland and India, told by people from those cultures who learned them from their parents and are now passing them on by word of mouth to the next generation. He finds out about the changes that happen when stories move across countries and languages with those who remember and tell them. And he visits a junior school to find out how a pioneering translation project is encouraging bilingual children to share the stories they've inherited from their families and translate them into English. Contributors include Monica Byanjeru Chalmers, Faustin Charles and Sita Brand. Producer Beth O'Dea.
