The murder enquiry into the death of a church parishioner continues. The priest made himself a suspect by leaving London unexpectedly. Detective Inspector Flood pursued him to Ireland but his body was discovered before she could speak to him. But before he died he made a final confession to Father Manu, the curate, who now refuses to break the seal of the confessional by telling her what was said. Nicola Walker stars in Nick Perry's gritty crime drama. Each Roman Catholic parish compiles a Book of the Dead from the lists of departed loved ones submitted by parishioners. A young priest opens one such envelope and discovers - not a list of the dead but a list of people he knows to be alive, and members of his congregation.
