In this Valentines special, recorded exclusively for ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Asian Network, Naughty Boy chooses his favourite romantic songs from Hindi films over the last thirty years and shares memories from his childhood. The music producer has worked with artists like Emeli Sandé, Sam Smith and Tinie Tempah but in this one-hour special, he gives an insight into a completely different side of his musical influences. Born as Shahid Khan to Pakistani parents settled in Watford, he grew up surrounded by the sounds of Mohammed Rafi, Lata Mangeshkar and the music of RD Burman. Little did he know how great an impact his father's favourite records would have on his path in life. Initially, he studied Business and Marketing at university but his passion lay elsewhere. After only a semester he dropped out and pursued his love of music, recording songs in his parents' garden shed. His debut album 'Hotel Cabana' released in 2013 and peaked at number two in the UK charts. Last summer's anthem 'La La La' reached number one in the UK Top 40 and won him the 'Best Song' and 'Best Video' at the MOBO Awards last year. He's now one of the most sought-after producers in the UK. Tune into hear Naughty Boy's favourite love songs from Bollywood, by composers who have musically inspired him, including AR Rahman and Anu Malik. Hear him talk about his father's passion for music, his first love and his two-year trip to Pakistan.
