Harry Redknapp was born in Poplar in 1947 and is an East End boy through and through. As a player, he came up through the youth teams at Tottenham and West Ham, and would later go on to have spells at Bournemouth and Brentford. As a manager he mostly took charge of teams in London, at West Ham, Spurs and QPR, and the South Coast, in Bournemouth, Southampton, and Portsmouth - who he led to FA Cup glory in 2008. He retired in 2017 after more than 50 years in the game. Harry Redknapp became the Listed Londoner in October 2013. He was manager of QPR at the time, and had just released his autobiography ‘Always Managing’.
