DJ, presenter, curator and label boss, Tash LC, brings a set full of global club sounds and banging beats as our first Pioneer of this special evening. For one night only, the 2024 Annie Nightingale Pioneers are taking over Radio 1 and Radio 1 Dance to showcase their individual sounds. Annie Nightingale Pioneers is an initiative, continued in the late broadcaster's memory, that aims to champion up-and-coming female and non-binary DJs and producers, who are making waves in the electronic scene. Tash LC is one of this year's brilliant recipients, alongside re:ni and Tatyana Jane. With the backing of some of dance music’s most influential institutions and an effortless ability to command a dance floor, Tash has quickly become one of the UK’s most exciting and versatile talents. She's a London-based creative with a passion for underground music from around the world. So prepare to be drawn in with a balance of textured bass and highlife fusions, with meetings of kuduro, gqom, baile funk, and other eclectic club rhythms from the Afrodiaspora and global south.
