Bells on Sunday comes from Australia, from the Adelaide Ringing Centre housed in the Eastern Tower of the city’s St Peter’s Cathedral. The centre has state-of-the-art education facilities which, amongst other things, enables ringing of the cathedral bells to be viewed by congregation and general public alike. The bells were cast and installed by Taylors of Loughborough in 1946. The Tenor, tuned to C, weighs over two imperial tons and makes this octave second in weight only to that of Sherbourne Abbey.
