The remarkable life of Captain Bill Allen, a Unionist MP for west Belfast, who was at one time a key backer of Oswald Mosley. From a wealthy Northern Ireland family who made millions through their advertising company, he rubbed shoulders with the likes of the famed Mitford sisters and attended a wedding with Adolf Hitler. He served with the Household Cavalry in World War Two and went on to assist British military intelligence. A prolific writer and traveller, he moved to county Waterford, where he entertained lavishly - among his many guests, the notorious cold war spy Kim Philby. A man with a ringside view of history, we reveal new details of the life and times of Bill Allen.
