Trail Gone Cold: The search for Northern Ireland's Missing

Stories in Sound

Available for over a year

Thousands of people are reported missing in Northern Ireland every year but behind the statistics are compelling stories waiting to be told. Stories of uncertainty, of grief and of hope. As part of ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Radio Ulster's Stories in Sound series, Trail gone cold: The search for Northern Ireland's Missing, reporter Karen Atkinson and producer Niall McCracken set out to talk to families whose loved ones have disappeared. Some live with bereavement after a relative’s body is found, others shoulder the unbearable burden of not knowing. At some point, all have had unanswered questions about why their loved ones up and vanished. The programme gets access to the police officers working on the front line to investigate such cases and it explores the little known practice of using psychic mediums in attempts to find missing people.
