Bells on Sunday comes from Christ Church Cathedral, Oxford. The Cathedral has a peal of twelve bells the oldest two of which were cast by John Bird around 1410. The Tenor was cast in 1589 by an unknown founder and weighs thirty one hundredweight. The bells are housed in a wooden structure known since 1873 as “The Meat Safeâ€.
