As an early Christmas treat for Andy (Tom Palmer), Jeff (Philip Jackson) has rented a beach hut. Their day of rest and relaxation is interrupted by visits from Beach Warden Marcia (Shobna Gulati), deck chair attendant Meg (Alison Steadman), nosy pensioner Mr Truepenny (Rasmus Hardiker), and human foghorn, town crier Peter Humfriss (Mark Benton). Along the way, they disrupt a birthday party, Andy gets some good news and Jeff inexplicably buys a snooker table.
