Tupac Amaru Shakur was born in New York City before moving to California as a teenager. He became a dancer and roadie before his obvious and natural talent led to him releasing his own material, receiving his first Grammy nominations and taking up acclaimed acting roles in the films Juice and Poetic Justice. His Death Row Records debut album All Eyez on Me cemented his place in hip-hop history.
