For one night only, the 2024 Annie Nightingale Pioneers are taking over Radio 1 and Radio 1 Dance to showcase their individual sounds. Annie Nightingale Pioneers is an initiative, continued in the late broadcaster's memory, that aims to champion up-and-coming female and non-binary DJs and producers, who are making waves in the electronic scene. re:ni is one of this year's brilliant recipients, alongside Tash LC and Tatyana Jane. Born in Birmingham, raised in Dorset and now based in London, re:ni has already made a name for herself as an internationally recognised DJ, playing sets around the world. Her sub-heavy sound marries deep, dank dub sonics with melodic and twisted mutations of techno, jungle and dubstep, characteristic of her label, party and radio show 're:lax', which she runs with Hessle Audio affiliate Laksa. She released her debut 12" 'Revenge Body' in 2022, with her new EP out just a few weeks ago. So, get ready to be taken on an immersive journey, from lyrical electronics, to complex bass and techno rhythms.
