Finding joy and laughter with an incurable condition

Saying 'Yes' to Life

Available for over a year

Actor Shalisha James-Davis was just 28 years old when she heard the devastating words ‘you have a rare cancer – mucinous ovarian cancer’. Now, three years on and currently cancer-free, she steps away from the dramatic storylines of stage and screen to share her own real-life story and connects with others, who, like her, have faced a life-changing diagnosis. Still figuring out how to move forward following her diagnosis, Shalisha wants to know how they have navigated their way to a fulfilling life. The series explores the undeniable realities of living with a life-changing and potentially life-limiting condition, but there’s also humour, lightness and inspiring stories of saying 'yes’ to life. Episode 1. Shalisha meets 33-year-old Meg who was diagnosed with hypersensitivity pneumonitis, a lung disease that occurs when the immune system overreacts to inhaled substances, causing inflammation in the lungs. It’s a progressive and incurable lung disease, but she’s determined to live her best life and help others to do the same.
