The Story of Kidd Dynamo

Stephen McCauley

Expires today 9:00pm

Kidd Dynamo, led by songwriter Colin Campbell, were a band from Carryduff, 6 miles south of Belfast. They formed in 1999 and their star burned brightly but also quickly, with only a few singles released and iconic gigs with bands like Supergrass and Preston School of Industry before an indefinite hiatus in 2003. In October, the band release a new collection called “I Am A Landslide and Other Stories” containing those original singles alongside songs that are brand new or only ever heard before live. Colin joins Stephen to reflect on the story of Kidd Dynamo. Stephen also catches up with Arborist, AKA visionary songwriter Mark McCambridge who has just been appointed a Seamus Heaney Centre fellow and Taylor Johnson drops in to give us the lowdown on the 12 shortlisted albums for this year’s Northern Ireland Music Prize.
