Brahms gets a double feature in this week's programme as we bring you the ѿý Scottish Symphony Orchestra's performance from this year's ѿý Proms at the Royal Albert Hall of Brahms Symphony No. 2 in D Major, known as his happiest symphony. And from Swiss pianist Francesco Piemontesi, our featured album is Brahms Piano Concerto No. 2 & Intermezzi. We also feature music from the Scottish Chamber Orchestra and highlight their upcoming concert of Gloria! and hear news of Scottish Opera on the road with their autumn highlights tour. And we pay tribute to pianist Scott Mitchell, whose passing has left an enormous mark on the music landscape.
