The Frankfurt Radio Symphony Orchestra are our ensemble in focus this week, with Sebastian Berner joining them as soloist in Haydn’s beloved Trumpet Concerto today. We’re also spending time all week in the picturesque East Neuk of Fife, hearing music recorded specially for us at the East Neuk Festival in June. Today, the Belcea Quartet play one of Beethoven’s late, great quartets, and principal clarinettist of the London Symphony Orchestra Sergio Pres is joined by violist Emma Wernig and pianist Chiyan Wong for music by Robert Schumann.
