Campervans, Catching Leaves and a Community Garden

Out of Doors

Available for 15 days

Mark takes a trip to Ninewells Community Garden in Dundee to meet garden facilitator June Imrie and the volunteers who run the garden as a therapeutic space. As the nights draw in, it becomes harder to get outdoors in the evenings. Jenny Graham resists the temptation to stay tucked up and hops on her bike for a night cycle through a nature reserve in Inverness. Mark and Jenny are joined live in the studio by Catherine Bunn, co-founder of the Campervan and Motorhome Professional Association. Catherine explains the key messages the organisation is trying to communicate, including driving etiquette, where to stay overnight and how to get rid of waste. Dr Rosie Spooner of Glasgow University runs walking tours that explore the city’s imperial and colonial past. Mark joins Rosie in Glasgow’s Kelvingrove Park to explore its hidden history. Jenny gets behind the wheel of a campervan to reverse into a parking space in North Kessock. She chats to Alicia Garrett about the campervans she has to hire and the advice the company imparts to tourists. Superstition says that a leaf caught in October will bring good luck. Production team Maud and Sarah are on a mission to catch one before the month is over.
