Oliver Hides takes your calls on prisons, people off work due to sickness and preppers.
The Phone InAvailable for 23 days
Who's to blame for prisoners being released by mistake? Police are hunting for one prisoner, mistakenly released from Wandsworth Prison in the past week. The Justice Minister, Alex Davies-Jones, has admitted prisons won't be fixed overnight. And the shadow Justice Secretary, Robert Jenrick, says that more prisons need to be built. Are there too many people off work because of sickness? There are 800,000 more people out of work now than in 2019 due to health conditions, costing employers £85bn a year, according to a review by former John Lewis boss Sir Charlie Mayfield. The report suggests that the number of sick and disabled people out of work is putting the UK at risk of an "economic inactivity crisis" that threatens the country's prosperity. And have you heard of the preppers? There’s a community of British survivalists out there, who are gearing up for potential emergencies amid growing global uncertainty. Leigh Price – who runs the survival and prepping shop ‘The Bug Out’ – will be talking us through what it means to be a prepper.
