Lejla Damon was born as a result of a terrible campaign of rape carried out against Muslim women in the Bosnian war. She was given up by her birth mother who wanted nothing to do with the baby. Two British journalists, working at the time to report on the war, adopted her and provided a loving life. But Marina hears that the stigma and the shame of her origin have clouded Lejla's life. Forgiveness has been part of her route back to a happier life and a fulfilling bond with the mother who abandoned her 30 years ago. Presented by Marina Cantacuzino Produced by Susan Marling A Just Radio production for ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Radio 4
